This past weekend I watched the two latest video tapes in the series, The
Creative Magic of Ron Thornton. With shipping and handling the two tapes
ran me about $100. What I was expecting was a look into some new modeling
and surfacing techniques that would be particularly useful in spaceship
design. While this information is contained in the tapes, I found the tapes
to be "a look over Ron's shoulder as he builds a model."

Ron comes across as a genius! He's got a good head for Modeler, real world
mechanical design, art and Photoshop. He also seemed to be having way too
much fun building his model. Quite often we heard him say, I don't know why
this will look good in the finished product, but it will.

After watching the tapes I realized that there were many commands in
Modeler that I had never tried, and others that I needed to check out more
thoroughly. And even though I considered myself to be a pro when it comes
to Photoshop, Ron still taught me a trick or two.

If you've got a good understanding of how Modeler and Layout work and you
want an over the shoulder look as a master creates his masterpiece, then
these tapes are for you. Lee Stranahan may be the Worlds Smartest Toaster
Guy, but Ron Thornton is clearly the worlds smartest Lightwave guy.
